Yuzvendra Chahal and Dhanashree Verma Finalize Divorce Amid IPL 2025 Preparations
Indian cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal and choreographer Dhanashree Verma have officially ended their marriage. On March 20, 2025, the Bandra Family Court in Mumbai granted the couple a divorce by mutual consent, concluding their union that began in December 2020.
The couple had been living separately since June 2022, citing compatibility issues as the reason for their separation. To expedite the divorce proceedings, the Bombay High Court waived the mandatory six-month cooling-off period, considering Chahal's professional commitments with the Punjab Kings in the upcoming Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 season.
As part of the divorce settlement, Chahal agreed to pay Verma ₹4.75 crore in alimony. This amount refutes earlier rumors suggesting a higher demand.
During the court proceedings, Chahal's attire drew attention. He was seen wearing a black T-shirt emblazoned with the phrase "Be your own sugar daddy," which sparked discussions on social media.
In response, Dhanashree Verma released a music video titled "Dekha Ji Dekha Maine," exploring themes of infidelity and toxic relationships. The timing of this release, coinciding with their divorce finalization, led to widespread speculation about its connection to their personal lives.
Despite the end of their marriage, both Chahal and Verma have expressed intentions to focus on their respective careers. Chahal is gearing up for the IPL 2025 season with the Punjab Kings, while Verma continues her work in choreography and digital content creation.
The couple's decision to part ways amicably has been met with support from fans and peers, who have extended their best wishes for their future endeavors.
