Smriti Mandhana continues to be a dominant force in women’s cricket as of April 2025. Recently, she was honored as the Wisden Leading Women’s Cricketer in the World for 2024. Mandhana had an extraordinary year, scoring 1,659 international runs across all formats, which included four centuries in One-Day Internationals and a memorable Test century of 149 runs against South Africa. Her consistent and powerful performances helped solidify her place among the top women cricketers globally.
In the 2025 Women’s Premier League (WPL), Smriti captained the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB). Despite the challenges, her leadership was praised, and her own form with the bat remained steady.
Expanding her presence in domestic cricket, Mandhana has recently signed up as the icon player for the Ratnagiri Jets in the upcoming Women’s Maharashtra Premier League (WMPL) 2025. Her participation is expected to add great value to the tournament and inspire the younger generation of cricketers, especially in Maharashtra.
Currently, Smriti Mandhana is also part of the Indian squad playing in the Women’s Tri-Nation ODI Series 2025 against Sri Lanka and South Africa. As one of the senior players, she is expected to play a key role in guiding India toward the final, scheduled for May 11. Her form at the top of the order remains crucial to India’s chances in the series.
With her impressive performances, strong leadership skills, and ever-growing fan base, Smriti Mandhana continues to be a central figure in the rise of women's cricket both in India and around the world.
