1. Establishment of 5 New Bases in the Abujhmad Region of Chhattisgarh for Road Construction

On April 24, 2025, ITBP established five new operational bases in the Abujhmad region of Narayanpur district in Chhattisgarh. This area is known for Maoist activities, and the establishment of these new bases will facilitate road construction projects in the region. 2. Recruitment Process for Constable Positions in 2025

ITBP initiated the recruitment process for 133 constable (General Duty) posts under the sports quota in 2025, which closed on April 2, 2025. Only players who have won medals at national or international events were eligible to apply. Selected candidates will receive a salary ranging from ₹21,700 to ₹69,100, along with other allowances. 3. Smuggling of 108 Kilograms of Gold Foiled in Ladakh

In July 2024, ITBP successfully foiled an attempt to smuggle 108 kilograms of gold near the Indo-China border in the eastern Ladakh region. The seized gold, consisting of gold bars, was valued at around ₹84 crore. ITBP arrested two suspects and seized not only the gold but also Chinese food items, mobile phones, and other contraband.
