Mumbai, March 26, 2025 – In anticipation of the grand celebrations for Bharat Ratna Dr. Babasaheb Ambedkar's birth anniversary on April 14, 2025, a high-level government review meeting was held at the Old Custom Collector Office in Mumbai.
Presiding over the meeting was Dr. Vijay Suryawanshi, Divisional Commissioner of the Mumbai Konkan Division. The meeting saw the presence of Mumbai City District Collector Payal Goyal, District Collector Rajendra Kshirsagar, and Additional District Collector of Mumbai City Ravi Katakdhond. Also in attendance were District Collectors from Sindhudurg, Ratnagiri, and Raigad, alongside senior officials from the Mumbai Police, Brihanmumbai Municipal Corporation (BMC), Mumbai Metropolitan Region Development Authority (MMRDA), and the Railway Department.
The agenda of the meeting revolved around the meticulous planning and execution of various arrangements for the celebrations. Government departments outlined their preparedness strategies, highlighting key responsibilities to ensure a smooth and well-organized event.
Adding valuable perspectives to the discussions, prominent Ambedkarite activists such as Nashan Kamble, Ramesh Jadhav, Vilas Rupawate, Pratik Kamble, Mahendra Salve, Pradeep Kamble, Prasannajeet Kamble, Bhikari Kamble, Ashish Gade, Rajaram Jadhav, and Naresh Sakpal actively participated, offering crucial suggestions to enhance the event's execution.
The administration underscored the importance of efficient inter-departmental coordination and active public participation to honor Dr. Ambedkar’s legacy. Officials reiterated their commitment to making the April 14 celebrations a grand and dignified tribute to the architect of the Indian Constitution.
