AP POLYCET 2025 Results Declared: Over 1.2 Lakh Students Await Counselling Schedule

Vijayawada, May 10, 2025 — The State Board of Technical Education and Training (SBTET), Andhra Pradesh, has officially declared the results of the Polytechnic Common Entrance Test (AP POLYCET) 2025. Students who appeared for the exam can now access their rank cards through the official platform by using their hall ticket numbers.

The AP POLYCET 2025 exam was held on April 30, 2025, in offline mode across more than 500 centers in the state. This year, over 1.25 lakh candidates registered for the examination, marking a 12% increase in participation compared to the previous year.

Aspirants who appeared for the examination can now access their rank cards by visiting the official website: polycetap.nic.in.

Highlights of AP POLYCET 2025:

  • Result Announcement Date: May 10, 2025

  • Total Candidates Appeared: Approximately 1.22 lakh

  • Pass Percentage: Around 78.4%

  • Top Ranker: Sai Venkatesh from Guntur district, with a perfect score of 120/120

  • Girls’ Pass Percentage: 80.1%, slightly higher than boys’ pass rate of 76.3%

  • District-wise Top Performers: Guntur, Krishna, and Visakhapatnam led the merit lists

Evaluation and Answer Key Review:

After the release of the provisional answer key on May 2, students were given a window of three days to raise objections. The final answer key, released on May 8, incorporated changes in four key questions following expert review. The swift resolution of discrepancies earned appreciation from students and parents alike, citing improved transparency.

Tie-Breaking and Ranking Method:

In case of equal marks, ranking was determined using a priority system — first by Mathematics marks, followed by Physics, Chemistry, and finally by the candidate’s date of birth. This year, about 2,300 students had to rely on the tie-breaking rules due to identical scores.

What's Next – Counselling & Seat Allocation:

The web-based counselling process for admission into government and private polytechnic institutions across the state is expected to begin in the third week of May 2025. Over 64,000 seats are up for grabs, with 29,000+ seats in government colleges.

The counselling process will include:

  1. Document Verification

  2. Web Options Entry

  3. Seat Allotment

  4. Reporting to Institutions

Candidates are advised to keep all original documents ready, including SSC marks memo, POLYCET hall ticket and rank card, caste certificate (if applicable), and domicile proof.

Official Remarks:

Addressing the press, the Chairman of SBTET, Dr. K. Rama Krishna, said, “This year’s results reflect improved participation and performance. The board is committed to ensuring a fair, timely, and transparent admission process.”

Education analysts also noted a rise in interest in diploma engineering courses, especially in fields like Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Artificial Intelligence due to rising industry demand.

Student Reactions:

“I’m happy to have cleared POLYCET with a good rank. Now my focus is on choosing the right college and stream,” said Anjali Devi, a student from Nellore. Others praised the efficiency of the results system this year, with minimal delays or technical issues reported.
